#ForTheThrone

Twitter partnered with HBO to create an industry first data-driven playback in digital out-of-home for Game of Thrones Season 8. It started with Twitter releasing 20 co-branded posters of our favorite characters, then fans were invited to share who they wanted to take the throne using #FortheThrone on Twitter. To create more excitement we created 20 hashmojis of our favorite characters from the show. As fans weighed into conversation leaning into their favorite hashmoji characters, we harnessed the speed of Twitter and an always on command center with data scientists and moderators using new streaming technology created by Dive Billboards capturing fan sentiment at the top of each hour in RT.

Result: 1.2 million frames of animation, a continuous 12 hour playlist and a Clio Award
